Juliet TravisMarketing, Communications, and Founding MemberJuliet Travis brings a range of technology public relations and strategic marketing communications to the Zapatec team. Juliet's previous experience was as an Account Supervisor with GCI Group, an international public relations firm based in San Francisco. At GCI she managed the Nokia and Visa International accounts. Juliet managed the Nokia Internet Communications arm of Nokia as well as provided on-site support for the launch of Nokia's Wireless LAN cards, Telephony and Secure Internet products/services. For Visa International, Juliet managed and provided tactical support in launching the strategy and outreach plan for Visa's secure electronic transactions through PDAs. Prior to GCI Group, Juliet worked at Fleishman-Hillard leading the California rollout and launch of Pacific Bell's DSL among other data services including ISDN, Frame Relay, SONET, T1 and ATM. During her tenure at both agencies, she built relationships with key industry media, analysts, and raised the bar for wireless/telecommunications software visibility. Prior to joining GCI and Fleishman-Hillard, Juliet worked in public relations for Alexander Communications, focusing on strategic consulting and communications for e-commerce and secure technology accounts. In addition to working for international public relations agencies, Juliet has had significant high-tech start-up experience as she was the first employee hired at Direct Network Access (DNAI). At DNAI she juggled the roles of business manager, public relations, marketing, sales, and when needed, technical support. Juliet was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, leaving the wild frontier to earn a BA in History from the University of California at Berkeley.
